Child Placement Agency
Criteria for becoming Foster Parents
Empower Youth Placing Agency (EYPA) is dedicated to certifying and retaining foster parents that are focused on teaching life skills and empowerment as we believe this provides lasting effects on the success of these children once they age out of foster care. We believe our practices with life-skills and enrichment programs not only assist the children with skills but with self-esteem which reduces some mental health issues.
EYPA will evaluate a prospective foster parent’s ability to be a successful foster/adoptive parent based on the following factors:
At least 21 years of age
Availability (work hours)
Criminal background
Financial Stable
Adequate sleeping space for the youth
No more than 6 children in the home (to include the DFPS youth)

Skills of the parent for specialized/unique needs of the youth
